Meet the Owner

My name is Lance Shrader and I am the owner of Gamers Geekery and Tavern. We are a board game bar in Cary where we focus on bringing people together in a nice environment to play games while enjoying good food and drinks. I founded Gamers and primarily provide market and financial direction for the company. During my career I have been involved in multiple sectors, including telecommunications, medical, insurance, and gaming. I have helped start multiple companies across several of those fields. My educational background is a BS in Computer Engineering from VA Tech and a MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from NCSU. We have tried to build the business from the ground up with the focus of being a chill place to come and play games. The kind of place that I wished existed before we started. Outside of work I have 2 teenage boys (both of which game) who I spend a lot of time with. Aside from board games, card games, and RPG's I also like to be active. I usually run several times and week and have recently started taking tennis lessons. Aside from Gamers I also own a public adjusting firm that helps homeowners and businesses with insurance claims.
